Nepali Rider Deepak Sah Shines in Royal Enfield Class at the Fourth Rally of the Himalayas

Deepak Sah, a renowned Nepali rider, recently claimed victory in Group D, the Royal Enfield class, at the fourth edition of the "Rally of the Himalayas" in India.

Competing from October 2 to October 6, Deepak showcased his talents on a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, in this exhilarating off-road motorsport event known for its challenging terrain, unpredictable weather, and Himalayan routes.

The competition covered around 600 kilometers, starting from Manali in Himachal Pradesh and passing through Rohtang Pass, Kaza, and Spiti Valley. Riders encountered tough geographical challenges, including the Kunjum Pass, which reaches an altitude of approximately 4,551 meters.

As a registered event with the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) and affiliated with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), participants had to follow specific regulations. Winners were determined based on time, speed, and distance (TSD) criteria.

A passionate and experienced motorcyclist, Deepak rode the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, which is renowned for its stability, durability, and performance in difficult conditions. His achievement not only highlights his success but also showcases the growing enthusiasm and talent for motorsports in Nepal.

The "Rally of the Himalayas" is an international event that attracts top riders from around the world, providing a platform to test their skills and machines in some of the most extreme terrains on Earth. The competition challenges both physical and mental endurance, requiring participants to navigate high passes, steep mountain trails, and rocky roads.

After his win, Deepak expressed his excitement, stating, "I feel honored to represent Nepal and to win in such a prestigious event. Riding the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 gave me the confidence to face the challenges of the Himalayas, and I aspire to promote my country through motorsports globally."

Deepak has been riding Royal Enfield motorcycles since he was a child, inspired by his father's ownership of one since 1980, which ignited his passion for the brand. He also took part in the Raid De Himalayan in 2017 and 2018, as well as the Rally of Chamba in 2022, achieving victories in the Royal Enfield category at both the 2018 Raid De Himalayan and the Rally of Chamba.
